The acequias (irrigation canals) that run throughout Albuquerque’s North Valley are a great artistic resource and refuge. Their dense foliage, with brilliant fall colors and surprising reflections along the twists and turns of the ditches, are like cool oases within the city.
I enjoy the quality of light and the dappled shade under the trees and try to capture some of that peaceful feeling in my work.
